In 1962, Henry Uihlein founded U-Line Corporation as an outgrowth of Ben-Hur Freezer Company and was the first to develop and patent an automatic stand-alone undercounter residential ice maker.

U-Line undercounter units have been consistently updated in technology and design. Undercounter ice makers provide clear ice cubes, refrigerators and freezers models are available with frost-free technology, and many U-Line models have been rated with the ENERGY STAR.

Today, U-Line offers a complete product line of ice makers, Wine Captain storage models, refrigerators, refrigerator/freezers, ice maker/refrigerator Combo models, beverage centers and refrigerated drawers.
